Some positive development in the Laikipia area of Kenya where the private and public sector now regularly meet to provide up to date information from the ground following a series of farm, ranch and conservancy invasions over the past months which led to the loss of some tourism facilities.

The Tourism sector has launched a task force to update the public and industry stakeholders regularly on Laikipia that has lately been in news following movement of large numbers of herders and livestock into the landscape.
The Kenya Tourist Board (KTB) and associated national tourism bodies, Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF), Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO and the Laikipia Wildlife Forum (LWF) have formed a tourism task force whose primary role is to promote Laikipia and its exceptional, diverse landscapes, wildlife and cultures.
The #KaribuLaikipia Task Force will also update the public and industry stakeholders regularly with news from the region.
The Task Force is a recommendation of an industry meeting held in Laikipia to address the challenges to the tourism industry resulting from the movement of large numbers of herders and livestock into the landscape.
