AS KENYA PREPARES FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY WILL JKIA BE SUBJECT TO THREE TEMPORARY CLOSURES

Preparations are ongoing for the celebrations of Kenya’s Independence Day on the 12th of December. Subsequently, in order to allow Kenya’s air force to train for their fly by maneuvers on the day, will Jomo Kenyatta International Airport be temporarily closed today, 25th of November from 11.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs noon and then again on the 07th of December during the same time.
On Independence Day 12th of December will the same restriction apply and flights into and out of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport will be delayed accordingly until after the air force’s aerial display is completed.
RwandAir has subsequently issued a delay warning for their flight from Entebbe via Nairobi to Kigali to accommodate the airspace closure.
Passengers on all other flights scheduled to arrive or depart during the 11 a.m. to 12 noon timeframe are advised to check with their respective airlines to ensure they have up to date flight information for the days in question, 25th November, 07th December and 12th December.
