PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE THE KEY TO BETTER SERVICE

18 tourism professionals attended the wilderness cocktail on last week which is being organized every year by the IRT, short for Ile de la Reunion Tourisme.
This annual B2B educational tour aims to provide a better knowledge of the local tourism offerings, which can be booked in real time on the regional reservation platform by industry professionals. This year, the Inter-communal Tourist Offices (ITO) North, South, ITO West, the Reunion Tourism Federation (FRT) and local DMCs Alizoa Trips, A Zot Tours, Coral and Counter Horizon Meeting responded at the invitation of the IRT to participate in the event. Accompanied by Aurore Payet, Veronica Todeschini Toussaint and Damien, customer advisors from the IRT, the group made a first stop on the West coast of the island before eventually reaching Cilaos.
It was on a flying microlight that the journey of discovery program began. The skytour discover a part of the municipality of Saint-Paul from lofty heights, from Cambaie through the Cave of the First French, Plateau Caillou and the Tour des Roches.
Back on terra firma a breakfast waited for the groups at Saint-Leu. After lunch, the participants were able to try out the ElliptiGO. Coming from California, this two-wheeled transportation is a new concept that revolutionizes the sport and revisit the use and looks of the bike. After this experience that combines cycling and running the group went on to Cilaos where participants were welcomed to the cottage The Calbanon.

The next day bright and early did the tourism professionals participate in the assault of a canyon. Between via ferrata, abseiling, jumping, swimming and water slides, the morning was, to say the least, intense and rich in adrenalin. After the effort came the well earned the comfort with everyone enjoying lunch before returning to Saint-Denis.
This education tour dedicated to Reunion tourism professionals has achieved its goal this year again as everyone was able to gain a better understanding of the attractions offered for visitors, all of which can be booked on the regional platform to be able to expand sales of services.
